Biography. Kat Souponetsky (née Kranarchuk) earned her degrees in composition from The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, and Manhattan School of Music.

Kat Souponetsky is a composer, pianist and educator. Her works have been performed across the globe and commissioned by various ensembles and institutions, including Chamber Music Northwest, where she was the first young composer-in-residence, Curtis On Tour, and Portland Chamber Orchestra to name a few. As a solo pianist, Kat was a winner of the MTNA State Piano Competition and DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards while still in high school. She has performed her own works at respected venues and programs such as Ten Grands (3-time guest artist), Fontainebleau Schools, Atlantic Music Festival, and Curtis Summerfest. When not composing for the concert stage, she actively teaches piano and composition. Her goal is to inspire students to love music as much as she does while nurturing their enthusiasm to practice piano. Kat is a graduate of The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, and Manhattan School of Music where she studied composition, and is the founder and owner of her music publishing company, Kat Sounds Music. Her goal is to inspire students to love music as much as she does, while nurturing their enthusiasm to practice piano. Her "Original Piano Solos" reflect music she wrote for her students that focus on specific piano techniques.
